Online Safety
It is essential that children are safeguarded from potentially harmful and inappropriate online material. An effective whole school approach to online safety empowers a school to protect and educate pupils, students, and staff in their use of technology and establishes mechanisms to identify, intervene in, and escalate any concerns where appropriate.
At Oaks Park High School we utilise several methods of filtering and monitoring for keeping our students safe online. These are outlined in our safeguarding, eSafety, and remote learning policies and include:
London Grid for Learning
Provides a filtered broadband connection, network services, a common learning platform, online content and support communities for all schools across London.
Smoothwall Monitor
Proactive monitoring helps us to detect online risks before they become real-life incidents. Smoothwall’s human moderators operate 24/7/365.
Impero
Classroom management software with real-time monitoring used by staff to maintain control and keep students focused in IT based lessons.
Oaks Park’s filtering and monitoring is reviewed on a regular basis to account for and combat new and emerging threats.
Information from filtering and monitoring of IT systems within Oaks Park support the review of strategies to meet the safeguarding needs of all students.
If you have any questions about online safety, please contact our Designated Safeguarding Leads via admin@oakspark.redbridge.sch.uk
