Inspectors found an ambitious, well sequenced curriculum, with pupils producing consistently high quality work and participating exceptionally well in lessons.

Teachers have excellent subject knowledge, regularly check pupils’ understanding and maintain consistently high expectations of pupils’ work and conduct.

02

“The school is highly ambitious for all pupils.”

Ofsted recognised how the school identifies and expertly supports pupils with SEND. Teachers adapt lessons to individual needs so pupils can access the same learning as their peers where appropriate.

Inspectors found that pupils with SEND achieve highly, including pupils in the school’s new specially resourced provision.

04

“The school prepares pupils for life in modern Britain extremely well.”

Pupils access a high quality careers programme from their first year at Oaks Park. Older pupils receive impartial careers advice and work experience, while Sixth Form students are supported with university, apprenticeship and job applications.

Pupils also learn how to keep themselves safe and have access to extensive support for their mental health.

Beyond the classroom

Opportunities for every pupil

Pupils benefit from a broad Super Curriculum and extracurricular offer, with opportunities including additional qualifications, British Sign Language, visits in England and overseas, fundraising and supporting younger pupils. These opportunities allow pupils to stretch their knowledge within and beyond the curriculum, while wider participation helps them develop resilience and leadership skills.

Leadership
“The school’s leadership is exceptional.”

Ofsted found leaders and governors to be reflective and continually looking for ways to refine the school’s work for the benefit of pupils.

The report also recognised high quality professional development, consideration of staff workload and wellbeing, and that staff are proud to work at Oaks Park.
